The number of telephone subscribers in India increased to 671.69 Million at the end of June-2010 from 653.92 Million in May-2010, thereby registering a growth rate of 2.72%. With this, the overall Tele-density in India reaches 56.83
GSM Operators added total of 96.23 subscriber last year with average monthly additions of almost 8-9 million subscribers. Airtel lead with 31.94 million subscriber addition followed by Vodafone with 24.79 million monthly additions.
CDMA Operators added total of 34.06 subscriber last year with average monthly additions of almost 3-4 million subscribers. RCOM lead with 22.74 million subscriber addition followed by TTSL with 10.79 million monthly additions.
